New Delhi: Hockey India has announced free entry for spectators at all matches of the men’s Asian Champions Trophy Punjab 2026, giving fans an opportunity to watch top-level international hockey without purchasing tickets.
The tournament will be held from October 27 to November 5 across two venues in Punjab: the Olympian Surjit Singh Hockey Stadium in Jalandhar and the Olympian Balbir Singh Senior International Hockey Stadium in Mohali. The two stadiums will jointly host 20 matches.
All league-stage matches will take place in Jalandhar from October 27 to November 2. The tournament will then move to Mohali for the semi-finals and medal matches scheduled for November 4 and 5.
Fans can obtain free entry passes by registering through Hockey India’s online ticketing partner, www.ticketgenie.in.
Hockey India president Dilip Tirkey said the decision was aimed at encouraging greater spectator participation and allowing more people to experience the excitement of international hockey.
He expressed hope that free entry would bring more supporters into the stands and help create an energetic atmosphere throughout the competition.
Hockey India secretary general Bhola Nath Singh also expressed confidence that the two venues would witness strong attendance. He highlighted Punjab’s longstanding connection with hockey and said the initiative was intended to make the sport more accessible while bringing supporters closer to the game.
India will begin its campaign against Bangladesh on October 27. The team will then face China on October 29, Japan on October 30, Malaysia on November 1 and South Korea on November 2.
With free entry available for every match, the tournament offers hockey enthusiasts an opportunity to support their teams and witness the continental competition live. The organisers are hoping for packed stands in Jalandhar and Mohali as the participating sides compete for the Asian Champions Trophy title.
