BETUL: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant today said that Goa is leading the way in electric vehicle adoption and is aiming for 100% EV penetration by 2027.
Sawant was addressing the gathering at the India Energy Week 2024 at ONGC Betul.
“We are actively transitioning towards renewable energy sources with ambitions planned to achieve a 60% solar and wind energy mix by 2035. We are leading the way in electric vehicle adoption, aiming for 100% EV penetration by 2027,” said CM Sawant.
He further said that India Energy Week stands as a beacon of collaboration and innovation with over 100 countries participating in this endeavour.
“Here in Goa, we explore clean energy solutions, cutting-edge technologies and sustainable practices that will shape the world energy landscape,” he added.
Sawant said that it is with immense pride and enthusiasm that he stand before today as Goa unveils its vibrant energy to the world, hosting the inaugural India Energy Week 2024.
“The presence of our esteemed PM Modi marks the momentous occasion and signifies the crucial role of Goa in India Energy future,” he said.
CM also said that to help India strengthen its climate resilience, PM Modi committed to bring down carbon intensely by more than 45 percent by 2030 and achieving the target of net zero emissions by 2070.”
He also informed that several policy reforms have been taken by the government to remove the obstacles of investment and incentivize the oil and gas sector in line with making India initiatives.
“My commitment to creating a pool of skilled workforce to the various efforts towards the skilling, rescaling and upskilling to cater to the various emerging sectors in the state,” says Sawant.
