CANACONA: Days after Canacona Railway Stop Bachao Action Committee (CRSBAC), which includes Senior citizens from the Taluka, triggered protests to demand long-distance Train Halts at KRC Station, Canacona, Canacona BJP Mandal submitted a letter to Canacona MLA and GLA Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar recommending the Train Halts.
According to sources, the Canacona BJP Block Committee, headed by president Vishal Dessai, submitted the letter to Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar recommending the resumption of halts to the long-distance trains at Canacona Railway Station.
After accepting the request letter, the Speaker promised the mandal that he would go to Delhi soon to discuss this issue with the concerned authority and facilitated the desired halts to the requested trains viz; Trivandrum Netravati Express, Matsyaganda Mangalore Express and Gandhidham Express.
The letter requesting the immediate resumption of halts to these long-distance trains reminded these trains used to halt at Canacona Railway Station before the covid Lockdown and now the people of Canacona, including senior citizens, business people, students, and Tourists, face severe hardships.
