PANAJI: State Immunization Officer Dr Rajendra Borkar today said that Goa is very close to achieving 100% of 2nd dose of Covid-19 vaccine with 99.93% coverage as on today.
“After completing the vaccination campaign for 1 year and 30 days, State of Goa has achieved 100% coverage of 1st dose of Covid-19 vaccine and is very close to achieving 100% of 2nd dose of Covid-19 vaccine with 99.93% coverage as on today,” said Dr Borkar
He further said that the State of Goa is amongst first three states in the country to achieve 100% coverage of Covid -19 vaccination to its eligible population above 18 years.
As per details, Covid-19 vaccination of children aged 15yrs to 18yrs has also attained a significant coverage of 87% of 1st dose and 64% of 2nd dose of the vaccine.
“Considering the significant coverage of vaccination in the state the programme of Covid vaccination now will be integrated with Routine Immunization Programme of the State from Wednesday 16.02.2022 in all the Government Health Centres spread over the length and breadth of the State,” he said
Dr Borkar said that this will enable a continuous, smooth and ensured availability of vaccine to all those yet to receive the above vaccine.
The vaccine wastage will be minimized and optimal utilization of Health Care Workers can be ensured.
