PANAJI: In an effort to strengthen the real estate industry under the GST system, the Central government named Chief Minister Pramod Sawant as the Convener of the reorganized Group of Ministers.
The Office of the Goods and Services Tax Council released an office memo stating that Sawant has been appointed as the convener of the reconfigured seven-member committee.
The chief minister thanked Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on social media for the appointment. He promised to try his hardest to earn back the faith you had placed in him.
The six members of the reconstituted committee include Deputy CMs Ajit Pawar (Maharashtra) and Samrat Choudhary (Bihar), Minister for Finance and Parliamentary Affairs (Uttar Pradesh) Suresh Kumar Khanna; Minister for Finance, Planning, Programme Implementation, Excise & Taxation (Punjab) Harpal Singh; Minister for Finance, Energy and Petrochemicals (Gujarat) Kanubhai Desai and Minister for Finance (Kerala) K N Balagopal.
