PANAJI: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant said that the State Government is making every effort to provide free equipment to differently-abled people. Speaking at an event held at the Secretariat, where a total 32 numbers of Electric Vehicle Neo Fly and Neo Bolt, two-wheelers retrofitted for disabled persons were distributed under Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited’s CSR initiative and the State Commission for Persons with Disabilities.
Additionally, the Chief Minister distributed 12 tablets embedded with the ‘Aavaz’ application, an augmented communication device used for speech, to special students from Sanjay School for Special Education Centre.
Chief Minister thanked HPCL for their significant contribution, emphasizing that the retrofitted two-wheelers will foster greater independence among disabled individuals. He also outlined the government’s ongoing initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality of life for differently abled people.
Minister for Social Welfare Shri Subhash Phal Dessai, expressed gratitude to HPCL Petroleum for their initiative. He mentioned Irfan, a physically disabled mobile shop owner, as an example of how these retrofitted two-wheelers will help individuals become self-reliant by reducing their dependence on others for transportation.
