PANAJI: The Goa Government on Wednesday cancelled the Class 12 Goa Board examination. Around 19,000 students were set to answer the Board exam 2021.
The decision comes a day after the Centre cancelled CBSE Class 12 exams.
“After extensive consultations, it has been decided that the Class XII exams shall be cancelled, as the health & safety of our students is of utmost priority,” the Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant tweeted.
“This will also help put an end to the anxiety amongst the students, parents and teachers,” he added further.
The Chief Minister informed that the results will be declared as per a well-defined objective criteria.
The exams were initially scheduled from April 24. However, in view of pandemic the same had to be postponed
Earlier in the day, the Chief Minister had chaired a crucial meeting with the officials of Goa Board, education department, and others to decide on the conduct of Class 12 board exams.
