PANAJI: Goa Energy Development Agency (GEDA) has entered into an MoU with Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH (GIZ) for developing multisectoral state energy action plan with 100% RE roadmap under the IGEN Access-II programme.
Between 18th and 20th August 2021, GEDA with the support of GIZ, organized a training and Sensitization Workshop on Energy Action Plan at GTDC in Panaji to discuss the future of renewable energy use in Goa and develop a multi sectoral energy plan to make Goa 100% RE state by 2050.
The workshop was addressed by the Hon’ble Minister of Power, Govt. of Goa, Nilesh Cabral and by the Power Secretary Kunal who emphasized on the immense potential of renewable energy use in the State and to make it green and sustainable in the near future.
Representatives from more than fifteen government departments actively participated in the meeting and shared their thoughts and ideas about the potential use of RE in their respective departments.
The Celestial Earth along with KTH, Sweden and PTC India Ltd is implementing the project and took part in the workshop. IIT Goa is also acting as a knowledge partner in this whole process of implementing 100% RE plan
