PANAJI: Goa’s U-19 teams delivered an impressive performance at the T10 U-19 Junior National Tennis Ball Cricket Championship 2026, held at Katra, Jammu and Kashmir, returning home with a silver medal and a bronze medal.
The Goa U-19 boys finished runners-up after a hard fought final against West Bengal. Goa went down by 42 runs but produced a strong campaign to secure the silver medal.
Captain Sarthak Pal was among the standout performers of the tournament. His consistent bowling earned him the Best Bowler of the Tournament award, while his overall contribution saw him named Man of the Series.
The Goa U-19 girls also impressed with a strong finish, securing the bronze medal after defeating Maharashtra in the bronze medal match.
Goa made the chase look effortless, reaching the target of 18 runs in just 1.5 overs to seal a convincing victory and finish third in the national championship.
Prachi Chari was recognised for her outstanding work in the field and was named Best Fielder of the Championship.
The performances by both Goa teams highlighted the growing strength of tennis ball cricket in the state, with the players showing consistency, teamwork and determination against some of the best junior teams from across the country.
The silver medal for the boys and bronze medal for the girls mark a successful national campaign for Goa, while the individual awards for Sarthak Pal and Prachi Chari further underlined the quality of performances from the state’s young players.
The achievement gives Goa’s U-19 tennis ball cricket teams a strong platform to build on as they continue their development at the national level.
