TALEIGAO: Goa University has dismissed an assistant professor for allegedly sexually harassing a student from his department.
As per the complaint filed by the family of the girl at the Panaji Women’s Police Station, the teacher had sexually assaulted the student by calling her in his cabin.
The incident was reported by the victim’s father to the Panaji Women’s Police Station. According to the allegation, the assistant professor invited the girl to his cabin where he twice touched her impermissible.
According to authorities, the father first complained to the university, and when they did nothing, he went to the police.
The father also contacted an MLA, who then contacted the CMO for assistance, according to the police.
