PANAJI: Goa University was not ranked among India’s top 100 universities once more, as the national government revealed the National Institute Ranking Framework (NIRF), 2024 on Monday.
After being listed in the rank band 101-150 for the previous two years, Goa University’s standing has dropped to the rank band 151-200 in the university category.
On the other hand, Goa University succeeded in securing a spot in the State Public Universities ranking band 51–100.
This year’s list of the top 100 engineering colleges in the nation does not include the National Institute of Technology (NIT)-Goa. With a score of 43.24 in the Engineering category, National Institute of Technology-Goa had fallen to rank band 101-150 in 2023.
With an overall score of 55.67, Goa Institute of Management (GIM) dropped to 37 in the Management category. The GIM received scores of 84.41 for graduation outcome (GO), 71.65 for outreach and inclusion (OI), 13.23 for perception, 25.94 for research and professional practice (RPC), and 75.11 for teaching, learning, and resources (TLR). In 2023, it had achieved the 33rd rank.
Goa College of Pharmacy also dropped, finishing in 93rd place overall with a score of 40.69. With an overall score of 44.23, it has taken 66th place in 2023. It received scores of 33.44 in perception, 60.12 in TLR, 10.42 in RPC, 54.69 in GO, and 52.48 in OI.
In terms of the overall category, not a single institution in the state made it into the top 200 ranking.
