PANAJI: Norwegian and Goan companies linked to the technology and fisheries sectors explored trade and collaboration opportunities at the Agder-India Business Seminar, which was held recently at the coastal town of Agder in Norway.
At the seminar, the Goa delegation was led by state Fisheries Minister Nilkanth Halarnkar and comprised officials from the Fisheries Department as well as leading fishing industry stakeholders, who discussed ways and means to increase Goa’s marine yield through the use of technology. Porvorim-based tech company Kilowott, which also has offices in Norway, participated in the seminar and was represented by its co-founder Judah Fernandez, at the invitation of the Norway-India Chamber of Commerce and Industry. “Goan companies which were a part of the state delegation at the Agder-India Business Seminar were scouting for equipment, technology and advanced knowhow – aspects which Norway excels in – to significantly improve Goa’s marine yield,” according to Fernandez.
