This Trust may have Adani, Ambani, GMR & other Crony Capitalists as Trustees. BJP Government must focus on the ICU, CathLab, and Neuro Surgery Unit & provide all sanctioned staff including Doctors, Nurses, and Technicians. South Goa District Hospital was a visionary project of the Congress Government to provide affordable Health Care to Goans. We will together fight and oppose any proposal to Privatise the Hospital, warned Yuri Alemao.
There are 28 Vacant Posts of Doctors to be filled as of date. These Vacant Posts include Post of 1 Senior Paediatrician, 2 Senior Surgeons, 1 Senior ENT Surgeon, one Senior Ophthalmic Surgeon, 1 Senior Psychiatrist, 2 Senior Orthopaedic Surgeon, 2 Medico-Legal Officers, 3 Junior Anaesthetists and 3 Medical Officers & others pointed Yuri Alemao.
The government has still not commissioned the much-needed Cardiac Cath Lab.? The Cardiologist from GMC has started Cardiology OPD Services only once a week at SGDH, said Yuri Alemao.
No one knows when the Neuro Surgery Unit will be set up. The government is just giving assurances year after year. They have money to spend on Events but find a paucity of funds for Health Care, Yuri Alemao.
Super Specialities like Nephrology, Neurology, Cardiology, ICU (Intensive Care Unit), ITU (Intensive Trauma Unit), CCU (Critical care Unit), Plastic Surgery and MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging), Oncology are not available in Hospicio South Goa District Hospital, said Yuri Alemao.
“I have data which states that out of the 642 Sanctioned Posts, 494 Posts are filled of which 159 are on Contract Basis and 155 are still Vacant,” said Yuri Alemao.
South Goa District Hospital has become a Referral Hospital Hospital with almost every case referred to GMC or Private Hospital, charged Yuri Alemao.
