Panaji: Following Goemkarponn expose of New Year Party at the Sunburn Club two days after the owners were granted permission to remove perishable items from the premises, Environment Minister said that the club would be demolished if any illegality was found.
Goemkarponn.com on Thursday exposed how the GCZMA connived with the owners of Sunburn Club and allow the sealed club just in time to host New Year Party.
Cabral, replying to queries on the issue, said that GCZMA allowed club to be de-sealed on humanitarian grounds as there were perishable items inside.
“GCZMA gave permission on humanitarian ground as there were perishable items inside. We do not know whether they it was misused it to organise New Year party. That comes under other authorities,” he said.
He said, the Sunburn case is slated for January 7 before GCZMA over alleged violations.
“The party does not come under GCZMA, I can assure that the club would be demolished, if any illegality found on CRZ violations,” he said.
On December 18, GCZMA had directed the Deputy Collector Mapuisa, Bardez to stop the illegal construction going in property survey no 213/18 of Ozran, Vagator. Bardez. Goa and also to seal the premises.
Based on the order Deputy Collector & SDO Mapusa sealed the said premises on 18/12/2020 and submitted the compliance to this Authority.
Surprisingly, the same authority issued direction for desealing on December 29.
”This Authority is in receipt of application dated 28 12 2020 from Dennis Shivani, Designated Partner that there are perishable items in the premises and if the same are not removed in time than there are chances that said perishable item will be spoiled,” the order states.
GCZMA says it is of the opinion that the request made by the applicant seems to be genuine and in order to safeguard the interest and to stop incurring of losses the premises needs to be de-sealed.
“Therefore, Deputy Collector & SDO Mapusa is hereby directed to de-seal the property on receipt of this order and submit a compliance report within 48 hrs,” it said.
