PORVORIM: Agriculture Minister Ravi Naik today said that the Government is taking all necessary steps to protect Khajan land cultivation in the State through implementation of notified schemes of Directorate of Agriculture for maintenance repairs of bunds.

He further said that Department also supplies Paddy seeds, free of cost, like Korgut, Goa Dhan -1, Goa Dhan-2 in case salinity is high.
“The Government will study effects of inundation of saline water on crop cultivation and exploit all possibilities that both Agriculture and Pisciculture co-exist in Khajan land without disturbing either activity,” he added.
Minister also said that Expert committee will be appointed to study and give recommendation to prepare a suitable project.
