PANAJI: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant said that the high number of deaths due to COVID19 today is painful and a serious concern for us in this second wave.
“We are giving the best healthcare facility to treat COVID19 patients, and are consistently working to upgrade the same,” he said.
However, he added, that the increased number of Covid positive cases today is due to the clearance of backlog.
“The same is expected to continue for the next two days. Urging citizens to strictly follow all #COVID appropriate norms and get vaccinated,” he said.
Meanwhile, Health Minister Vishwajit Rane said that the entire team headed by the Hon’ble Chief Minister
Dr Pramod Sawant, Health Secretary, Ravi Dhawan, Dean GMC, Director DHS, the whole team of doctors at GMC, health officers & Medical Superintendent, & all the front line workers are trying our best to save lives.
“We request your support in timely reporting of cases, the minute you develop symptoms, report to the PHC or CHC for immediate medical care,” he added.
He said that all the citizens opting for Home Isolation, to adhere to the SOPs of Home Isolation.
“Our health officers will be in constant touch with the patients to check on them,” he added.
He said the real time reporting of patients with proper medical intervention will help us save lives.
“We have noticed that patients are coming in very late with severe symptoms and hence it is becoming difficult to administer the treatment to patients,” he stated.
“Today we have nearly lost 10 people who were not even admitted for more than 24 hours and have lost their lives due to delayed treatment,” he said.
He said that as a result of this, it is pertinent that patients come to the facility in time.
“Timely reporting of cases will help us save lives,” he said.
