BICHOLIM: Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) Bicholim has demanded with the deputy collector to ban use of plastic flags on the Republic Day.
Through a memorandum submitted to the Bicholim deputy collector, Deepak Vaigankar the samiti has stated the harmful use of plastic and has demanded to take action against those selling such type of flags.
They have stayed that plastic flags are thrown on the road and gutters which is an insult to the nation. They have demanded with the authorities to bring about awareness regarding this.
“If any firm is producing such plastic flags they should be punished” the memo read. BMC ex councillor, Vijaykumar Natekar; Govind Chodankar, Babaji Kanolkar and Deelip Mangaonkar were present while submitting the memo.
