Ponda: “PM Narendra Modi has assured that Goa will not fall short of funds for development. BJP has granted ST status to the Gawda, Kunbi and Velip communities. Our request is for political representation for the ST community in 2027, and we have faith that it will be granted,” CM Dr Pramod Sawant stated this while addressing a public gathering of the NDA in Ponda, advocating for Mrs Pallavi Dempo, the BJP’s candidate for South Goa.
On this occasion, the BJP candidate for South Goa Mrs. Pallavi Dempo, was joined by several prominent figures, including BJP Goa State President Shri. Sadanand Shet Tanavde, Lok Sabha Election Incharge Ashish Sood, Agriculture Minister Ravi Naik, Power Minister Sudin Dhavalikar, Art & Culture Minister Govind Gawde, Water Resources Minister Subhash Shirodkar, State General Secretary of BJP Narendra Sawaikar, former MP Vinay Tendulkar, MGP leader Ketan Bhatikar, MGP state president Deepak Dhavalikar, Ponda BJP in-charge Prashant Desai, Chairperson of Ponda Municipal Council Ritesh Naik, as well as numerous BJP officials and karyakartas.

Chief Minister started his speech with the “Abki Bar 400 Par, Phir Ek Bar Modi Sarkar” slogan. Modi’s schemes target Antyodaya tatva, ensuring funds reach the grass root unlike during Congress rule. BJP is secular, focusing on holistic development regardless of caste or religion. The party aims to empower women, youth, farmers, and the poor through various initiatives like Skill Development, Startup India, and Kisan Credit Cards. CM Sawant sought support for Modi on May 7 to continue the ongoing trend of development.
