PANAJI: Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has said that Goa will witness increased rainfall activity till July 14.
The IMD has also issued an orange alert of heavy to very heavy rainfall for July 11 to Jul 14.
“As forecasted earlier, rainfall over both districts of Goa very likely to increase from 11th July. Distribution of Very Heavy rainfall(rainfall>12cm in 24 hrs)to increase in coming days.Winds of speed around 40kmph very likely,” said IMD.
The increase in Rainfall activity is due to a low pressure area over Westcentral & adjoining Northwest Bay of Bengal off north Andhra Pradesh-south Odisha coasts and an East-West shear zone at 19°N between 2.1&5.8 km, tilting southwards with height, said IMD
