PANAJI: India since after independence due to its Constitution, has had a transformative journey through widespread illiteracy, poverty and hunger among other things emerging today as a mature and vibrant democracy, a self-assured nation stated Minister for Sports & Youth Affairs Govind Gaude at a function to commemorate 75 Constitution Day of India organized by the Directorate of Sports & Youth Affairs.
The Minister speaking further said that our constitution has evolved out of huge debates and discussions by the scholars, visionaries and people with high esteem who were the members of constituent assembly.
The culmination of this is our lengthy and well written document in the world. He further added” India’s constitution also played a pivotal role in transforming our society from the vices of discrimination and lays thrust on establishing equality in the society.
He said the constitution is not only a legal document or set of rules to run administration but it embraces all aspects of human society which proves credibility of our constitution.
The Minister further speaking also said we are a great democratic nation with diversity and that our constitution has helped to knit us together as a nation.
“We are blessed to have the gift of democracy through which we have derived a power of choices, he said, calling for the need to study the constitution and propagate its ideas among our people,” he added
