VASCO: The Indian Coast Guard District Headquarters in Goa recently organized a blood donation camp in collaboration with the Goa Medical College at the Coast Guard office in Chicolna, Vasco, on June 10.
The purpose of the camp was to mark the upcoming “World Blood Donor Day” on June 14 and to raise awareness about the significance of blood donation and its role in saving lives.
The event was well-attended by Coast Guard Officers & men, civilian staff, members of the Coast Guard Wives Welfare Association (CGWWA), Bank of Baroda, and Lions Club Vasco. Suman Kumar, CE (CG) Goa, graced the occasion as Chief Guest and emphasized the noble cause of donating blood to save lives.
The event also included Deputy Inspector General Manoj Bhatia, TM, the Commander, Coast Guard Goa, Senior CG Officers, Mrs Deepika Bhatia CGWWA president Goa, and personnel from other organizations.
The doctors from the Goa Medical College conducted a basic checkup of all the donors before the blood donation process began, thanking all the volunteers for their noble deeds.
