Tuem: In a decisive move to accelerate the operationalisation of the Electronic Manufacturing Cluster (EMC) at Tuem, Hon’ble Minister for Information Technology, Electronics & Communications, Government of Goa, Shri Rohan A. Khaunte, conducted an on-site review with key stakeholders and allottees to drive forward progress on the ground.
The meeting took place at the Administrative Building within the EMC premises and saw active participation from senior officials, including Hon’ble MLA and Chairman of InfoTech Corporation of Goa Ltd., Dr. Chandrakant Shetye; Director of DITE&C, Shri Kabir Shirgaonkar; Managing Director of InfoTech Corporation of Goa Ltd. (ITG), Shri Praveen Volvotkar; and Chief Engineer of Goa Information Technology Development Corporation (GITDC) and ITG, Shri Subrai Nadkarni.
Minister Khaunte met individually with each plot allottee to understand their project timelines and address any challenges in implementation. He assured continued support from the Department to fast-track critical enablers such as power and water connections, along with identifying workforce skilling requirements to ensure long-term sustainability of operations at the cluster.
The visit also included consultations with key government departments including Fire & Emergency Services, Police, and ESI, aimed at ensuring the necessary infrastructure and services are aligned for seamless functioning within the cluster.
“This cluster forms a core component of Goa’s broader vision to emerge as a hub for electronic manufacturing,” said Shri Khaunte. “We’re shifting gears from policy-making to execution. Our goal is to eliminate bottlenecks and empower investors with the tools and confidence to move forward swiftly.”
The proactive engagement highlights the Department’s commitment to creating a responsive, industry-ready ecosystem through strategic coordination and prompt action at EMC Tuem.
