Margao: Goa’s Janiva Fernandes and Farzeen Zakati secured silver medals at the West Zone Khelo India Women’s Wushu League, hosted by the Association of Goa Wushu under the guidance of Wushu Association of India and Sports Authority of India at Manohar Parrikar Indoor Stadium, Navelim, on Wednesday.
Janiva secured silver in the Changquan group A junior category, while Farzeen came second in the Taijijian senior event.
Yogiraj Kamat, President of BPS Sports Club; Dipali Sawal, vice-president of Margao Municipal Council and Edwin Cardozo, ZP of Navelim Constituency were the guests present.
Goa results: Junior: Sumitra Toroskar 4th, taijiquan, Janiva Fernandes 2nd changquan group A, Saeesha Gadekar 3rd changquan group B, Utkarsha Damaji 3rd nanquan group A, Gayatri Raut 4th taijijian group A, Diksha Dabholkar 4th jianshu group A. Senior’s: Anshu Jaiswar 3rd 48kg, Nurjohoon Ahmed 4th changquan, Farzeen Zakati 2nd Taijijian , Jorvalinn Fernandes 3rd taijiquan, Shabnam Shaikh 3rd nanquan, Siya Pednekar 4th jianshu, Kajal Chavan 3rd nandao.
