PARRA: A KTCL bus lost control and swerved out into the fields at Parra-Saligao. The bus conductor stated that the vehicle veered off the road due to a steering wheel problem at the speed breaker.
Thankfully, no passengers suffered any injuries. A KTCL bus was travelling from Mapusa to Calangute on Monday morning when the driver encountered a steering wheel issue near the Saligao – Parra route.
When the bus was speeding and slowed down for the speed limit, the steering wheel locked, causing the vehicle to drift off the road. Since there were no other cars on the road at the time of the occurrence, no commuters suffered any injuries.
“The bus was travelling from Mapusa to Calangute on its regular route at approximately 6:45 a.m. As the bus approached the Saligao-Parra road, a passenger abruptly waved for the driver to stop. The bus was travelling at full speed when the driver noticed the man waving and instantly applied the brakes.
The bus conductor, Gaurav Prashant Bharve, stated that the driver was unable to manage the vehicle since the steering wheel stopped working at the rumblers.
There were seven passengers in total, and all of them were elderly people. The bus veered sharply to the left and came to rest in a field.
Thankfully, there were no serious damages recorded, and the passengers were unharmed.
