PANAJI: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that AAP will enact legislation reserving employment in the mining sector to those who are already dependent on this industry once voted to power.
“Once voted to power, AAP will enact a legislation reserving employment in the mining sector to those who are already dependent on this industry; priority will be given to those families who are mining dependents,” said Kejriwal while interacting with mining dependents at Pale village in Sankhalim constituency
He further promised AAP will resume the mining industry within 6 months of forming the Government in Goa; till then, the mining dependents will get a monthly allowance.
“AAP will resume mining industry within 6 months of forming the government in Goa, till then the mining dependents will get monthly allowance & priority will be given in employment in mining to those who were earlier employed there,” he added.
He further said, mining dependent families, people are also facing hardships. And until mines start, every mining family will be given Rs 5, 000 per month, “Kejriwal also said.
Kejriwal said that people were joining AAP as it was the only honest party in the country.
“Only AAP is the honest party in the country and that is the reason that people are joining it. In Goa, the biggest problem is corruption. You vote for a person and he changes sides after elections. Only AAP can give an honest government in Goa,’ he claimed.
The AAP National Convenor also said that some vested interests are not allowing the mines to start while also stating that there’s also lack of willingness to resume the mining industry.
Kejriwal also visited Karmali Budruk village which has been fighting for its land rights for decade promised to give land rights within 6 months of AAP forming the state government.
“I promise that AAP will give land rights to Badruk-Karmali villages within 6 months of AAP forming the state government. If Government wants it can give land rights to the rightful owners, we will give the land rights in first 6 months”: said Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal.
He further said that even as Goa is now 60 years old, these people in their 70s do not have the right to own their land.
“Today, the people of Badruk and Mavshi villages met and formed their own government in Goa, assuring them of their rights,” said Kejriwal
He further said that AAP will make high-quality Government schools in each village.
