MAPUSA: Pandurang Khorjuvekar was elected unopposed as the new Sarpanch of Camurlim Panchayat in a recent special meeting at the panchayat.
On Monday, a special meeting was held at the panchayat office wherein the presiding officer received only the nomination of Pandurang Khorjuvekar. After following the process, the presiding officer declared Khorjuvekar as the new Sarpanch.
During the meeting, four members, namely Deputy Sarpanch Sanjana Mashelkar, Dharmendra Parab, Sangeeta Naik Pednekar and Khorjuvekar, were present. While the other three members were absent.
The post of Sarpanch was lying vacant after a no-confidence motion was moved against former Sarpanch Chhaya Gad.
