CANACONA: Two BJP rebels of the eight candidates are Crorepatis fighting it out with the other five Lakhpatis for Canacona assembly elections.
An independent candidate has just about 64000 in movable assets including cash of Rs.23023/-, deposit of Rs. 3.65 in SBI, a laptop worth(34,000) and mobile phone worth 7000) and have no Liabilities.
Vijay Poi Khot who is one of the two BJP rebels in Canacona has a net assets of Rs.4,49,75,424/- and liabilities of 40,62,785/- as per his affidavit filed with his nomination papers.
Isidore Fernandes, the second BJP rebel has net assets of Rs.2,82,54,760/- while his liabilities are 96,511.37.
Incidentally, both the crorepati independent candidates having Bachelors of Arts educational qualification and they are businessman by profession and has no criminal cases against them.
The two national party candidates Ramesh Tawadkar, who Incidentally is an ex-minister and has conglomerate of educational institutions has shown his profession as an Agriculturist, while INC candidate Janardhan Bhandari have stated his profession as Proprietary Business.
Tawadkar’s assets are Rs.72,83,970 against a liability of Rs.32,01,496, while Bhandari assets amounts to Rs. 52,42,988 against the liabilities of Rs.72,82,212.13 mostly pertaining to Loans from Banks and Financial Institutions.
Bhandari have no criminal cases, Tawadkar have criminal cases under sections 143, 147, 148, 341, 435, 188, 332,324 r/w 149 IPC and section 3&4 of PDPP Act.
Educational qualification of Tawadkar is BA, BP.Ed, Bhandari mentioned his educational qualification as Catering &Hotel Management, Food & Beverages, Food Production as his highest qualification.
