PONDA: Seven people were hurt in a fight between two groups that broke out at Dhavrem-Usgao on Thursday night over a land dispute. Once countercomplaints were received, police reacted by filing cases against both groups.
Around 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, there was an altercation that left seven people injured. They were admitted right away to the Goa Medical Hospital in Bambolim, where they received care before being released. Both parties then filed countercomplaints at Ponda police station against one another.
In response, law enforcement filed complaints against members of the opposing factions. In the first group, Sunil Savlo Kurtikar and Sudesh Savlo Kurtikar were mentioned, and in the second group, Pritesh Ganesh Kurtikar, Ganesh Kurtikar, Rama Anand Kurtikar, Rajendra Anand Kurtikar, and Usha Ganesh Kurtikar were mentioned.
Seven people were taken into custody by police on Friday morning in relation to the incident. They were later freed on bond, though.
