CANACONA: Refusing to bog down at the constant denial of their membership claims, Shree Keshav Devalaya Mahajan have decided to fill the membership forms of Loliem-Polem communidade when the memberships will be open in a month long exercise in the month of May.
“Yes, we all the villagers including the Keshav Devalaya Mahajan will fill-up the membership forms and submit it to the Loliem-Polem communidade along with proper documents for validations and records, when the membership drive will be opened-up during the month of May. We are told that the membership window will be open in a month-long exercise.” informed Manoj Prabhugaonkar, who is a known face in the village to spearhead the movement for communidade membership of Loliem-Polem communidade to all the eligible villagers.
According to Manoj, all the adults and male mahajans of Keshav Devalaya are eligible for membership/to be components of Loliem-Polem Communidade.
According to sources, as per Communidade Code, the membership forms from eligible applicants with documentary proofs are accepted and processed during the month of May. The managing committee decides on acceptance or rejection of the membership claims in accordance with the code of communidade on new members/components.
Prabhugaonkar further informed that the villagers and mostly Keshav temple Mahajans may approach the proper forums even approaching the court of law if their membership forms are rejected by the communidade of Loliem-Polem.
Also other villagers, who claims they are original inhabitants of the village of Loliem-Polem, and are instrumental in shaping the village and have nurtured the village and are rightful owners of all the common lands are also expected to file their claims for membership of Loliem-Polem communidade, informed sources.
. According to Loliem-Polem villagers, some of the resolutions taken by Loliem-Polem communidade in recent times particularly of allotment of land will also be challenged with appropriate authorities and even courts will be approached if justice is denied by the authorities.
Some villagers, Keshav Temple Mahajans and even some communidade members blame Loliem-Polem communidade of selling the Common land for commercial activities. “no, it’s not only a film city, Loliem-Polem communidade is clandestinely passing resolutions to allot large chunks of communidade land for other than agriculture and non-traditional usages. We will not keep quiet and watch this silently, but will present villagers objections of ploys to concretize the ‘Common Lands’ in the village meant to be preserved for posterity of future generations”, said Prabhugaonkar.
