Anjuna: Anjuna Police Station has registered an Unnatural Death (UD) case following the death of a 32-year-old man who was undergoing treatment at Goa Medical College and Hospital.
Police informed that on February 27, 2026 at 9.20 am, a wireless message was received from the casualty police desk at GMC Bambolim stating that Rajesh, son of Shobha Kumar, a native of Dindori district, Madhya Pradesh, had expired while undergoing treatment in Ward No. 107 under MLC No. 26/1376.
The deceased was admitted on February 24, 2026 as a case of fall from height at Anjuna, Goa. In this connection, Anjuna Police registered UD No. 16/2026 under Section 194 of the BNSS.
Preliminary inquiry revealed that the deceased was working as a Site Supervisor at La Cascada Villa in Anjuna. On February 24, 2026 at around 2.30 pm, while climbing the internal staircase at the villa, he reportedly suddenly collapsed and became unconscious.
He was initially shifted to the District Hospital, Mapusa, and later referred to and admitted at GMC Bambolim for further treatment.
Enquiry further revealed that the deceased was a chronic alcoholic and, as per his brother, was suffering from liver disease. Police have stated that no foul play is suspected in the matter.
The body has been preserved at the GMC Bambolim morgue for further medico-legal formalities. Further inquiry is being conducted by PSI Saish Kinlekar of Anjuna Police Station.
