MAPUSA: The Mapusa JMFC has granted bail to one Chhakaudi Mahato, a resident of Bihar, who was arrested in connection with an NDPS case on August 7 earlier this month.
Mahato, who was represented by Advocate Myron Araujo argued that Mahato was falsely implicated in the present case and during the course of interrogation he told the police that he is innocent and that the allegations levelled against him are totally false and baseless.
Mahato was granted bail on a personal bond of Rs 15,000 and directed to not tamper with evidence and shall not tamper with evidence, intimidate or threaten the prosecution witnesses.
“I have scrutinised the records and also considered the arguments advanced and also considered the Say of the Investigating Officer in the present case. It is pertinent to note that the accused is presently in Judicial custody as prayed by the Investigating Officer. The Investigating Officer has not made out any grounds for rejecting the bail application. The objections raised by the Investigating Officer can be taken care of by imposing conditions,” the JMFC Vaishali Lotlikar, said.
“The Applicant/Accused shall not abscond and shall not interfere with the investigation and shall cooperate with the Investigating Officer or Court in the investigation of the alleged offence,” the Court also said.
