FATORDA: Repair work at Margao’s Nehru Stadium has reportedly not started despite earlier assurances that immediate action would be taken to address loose sheets and exposed iron structures at the venue.
The issue had been raised nearly two months ago, following concerns that damaged portions could become hazardous, especially during strong winds or heavy rain.
With ISL matches set to begin at the stadium from October 10, and two Goa teams in action this season, concerns over spectator safety have once again come into focus.
Stadium Executive Engineer Deepak Lotlikar said the section where the loose sheets pose a risk will be cordoned off and kept out of bounds for spectators as a precaution.
