PANAJI: India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted a ‘Yellow Alert’ for May 12 and 13. IMD also stated that thunderstorms with lightning and winds gusting to 30–40 kmph are very likely at isolated places across Goa on those days.
Additionally, it indicated that intermittent rain was expected in certain areas between May 11 and May 16.
Friday’s high temperature in the state rose marginally in the meantime. In Panjim, the highest recorded temperature was 34.5 degrees Celsius, with a minimum of 25.9 degrees, and in Murgaon, the highest recorded temperature was 34.2 degrees Celsius with a minimum of 25.8 degrees.
According to the weather office, the state’s highest temperature will probably stay between 34 and 36 degrees Celsius for the next seven days.
According to the IMD, the maximum temperature is not expected to change significantly over the next five days.
