PONDA: Collem police located the body of Bengaluru-born tourist Abdul Rafique, 62, who had gone missing on Thursday.
His wife had reported him missing, so the Collem police and Mollem Foresters worked together over the course of the last four days to locate him.
They had stopped at around 1.30 pm while travelling in a jeep to the Dudhsagar waterfall. Rafique was reported missing by the police while his spouse was using the loo.
The Collem police ruled out the notion that Rafique had been attacked by a wild animal, stating that there were no signs of such an attack on his body. His body was beginning to decompose, but his clothing, including his life jacket, remained undamaged.
The police have filed a case of unnatural death. The cause of his death would be revealed after an autopsy is conducted, which is likely to be conducted today. The body has been preserved at the South Goa district hospital.
