PORVORIM: MLA Sankalp Amonkar raised concerns over landslides in the Mormugao constituency, stating that inspections have been conducted but no action has been taken.
Sankalp said that the PWD says no funds have been allotted for disaster management; seven files have been submitted, but there has been no response so far.
On humanitarian grounds, we must prioritize this issue. If there are any landslides or disasters, we need to compensate those affected.
“It’s a genuine issue, and I request the CM to address it,” said Amonkar.
Minister Atanasio Monserrate said that he has no funds and all such expenses are made through the PWD. “Government doesn’t allocate separate funds for disaster management,” he added.
