Panaji: the Modern Pentathlon Association of Goa hosted a special interaction session and felicitation ceremony at SRK Farm in Khandepar, Ponda, Goa. The event, which ran from 10 AM to 4:30 PM, honored Goan athletes and coaches who secured an impressive seven medals for the state at the 38th National Games held in Uttarakhand. The gathering brought together prominent figures from the Sports Authority of Goa (SAG), Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs (DSYA), and the Goa Olympic Association, along with journalists and athletes.
The session provided a platform for athletes to share their experiences and preparations leading up to the national games. They also expressed their expectations for future competitions, emphasizing the need for a comprehensive government policy to prepare athletes for the upcoming national games in Meghalaya in 2027. Notable attendees included Dr. Vivek Pawar, Deputy Director of Sports and Assistant Director, SAG; Rajtilak Naik, President of the Goa Union of Journalists; and Chetan Kavlekar, Joint Secretary of the Goa Olympic Association.
Following the interaction, the athletes and coaches were formally felicitated. Sandhya Paliekar welcomed the dignitaries, while Kirtan Vaiz proposed a vote of thanks, marking a successful event that celebrated both the achievements of the athletes and the spirit of sportsmanship in Goa.
