New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday distributed over 51,236 appointment letters to newly recruited individuals during the 15th Rozgar Mela, held virtually and coordinated across 47 locations nationwide.
Addressing the appointees, PM Modi congratulated them on stepping into key roles across central government departments and called them “pillars of India’s progress.” He urged them to serve with dedication, noting that their efforts will contribute directly to India’s growth, infrastructure, internal security, and public welfare.
“Youth are the driving force of any nation’s development. When youth become stakeholders in progress, the country witnesses rapid transformation,” the Prime Minister said.
Key Highlights:
• Rozgar Mela Impact: Since its launch in October 2022, the Rozgar Mela has led to over 10 lakh appointments to permanent government positions.
• Digital & Start-Up Ecosystem: PM Modi highlighted platforms like UPI, ONDC, and GeM as examples of Indian innovation driven by young talent, alongside flagship initiatives such as Skill India, Startup India, and Digital India.
• Manufacturing Mission & Sectoral Growth: Referring to the Manufacturing Mission announced in Budget 2025-26, Modi said sectors like automobile, footwear, and Khadi and cottage industries are witnessing record growth. Khadi turnover has now surpassed ₹1.7 lakh crore.
• Infrastructure Progress: Modi pointed to the rise in inland water cargo—from 18 million tonnes in 2014 to 145 million tonnes in 2025—and an expansion of national waterways from 5 to 110, now covering nearly 5,000 km.
• Upcoming WAVES 2025 Summit: Scheduled to take place in Mumbai, the summit will spotlight India’s youth in the audio-visual and entertainment space, with workshops on AI and emerging media.
The PM also praised the growing female representation in top exams, noting that the top two UPSC ranks were secured by women.
He encouraged all appointees to take part in the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign, planting trees in tribute to their mothers.
Ministries Involved:
Appointees will serve across departments including the Ministry of Home Affairs, Railways, Labour and Employment, Revenue, and Higher Education.
Concluding his address, PM Modi reaffirmed his vision for a Viksit (developed) and Samriddh (prosperous) Bharat, saying, “Together, we will build the India of our dreams.”
