Panaji, September 13: The Goa State Rural Livelihood Mission (GSRLM) has organised Chaturthi Bazar 2026 across the state, providing rural artisans, producers and Self Help Groups (SHGs) a platform to showcase and sell their products during the Ganesh Chaturthi season.
The initiative is being conducted from September 9 to 13 through 18 Model Cluster Level Federations across Goa, with exhibitions being held at various locations in the respective talukas.
The bazars feature around 360 stalls offering a range of locally made products, including coconut shell crafts, jute bags, traditional Goan snacks, Kunbi sarees, home textiles and other handicrafts produced by rural entrepreneurs and SHGs.
GSRLM said the initiative aims to provide rural producers with better market access while creating awareness among consumers about locally produced and traditional Goan products.
The exhibitions have been organised across all 12 talukas, with multiple venues in several blocks.
In Salcete, bazaars are being held near Multicare Pharmacy Superstores at Varca and at Rawanfond Circle from September 10 to 13.
In Mormugao, the Sarathi Model Cluster Level Federation is organising the bazar at Chicalim Junction from September 10 to 13.
Exhibitions are also being held at Quepem Municipal Market and Sanguem Market from September 10 to 12, while the Janani federation is hosting the event at the Collector Building in Dharbandora from September 11 to 13.
In Canacona, the bazar is being held at the KTC bus stand from September 10 to 13.
Ponda has two venues, with exhibitions at the Ponda Bus Stand and Municipal Market, as well as Veling Priol Panchayat, from September 10 to 12.
In Pernem, bazaars are being organised near the Pernem Municipality, while Bicholim has exhibitions at Narayan Zatye Multipurpose Hall and Ravindra Bhavan.
In Sattari, the Sahiyadri CLF is organising the bazar near the Valpoi Municipality building.
Bardez has two exhibitions near the Shakuntala Statue at Mapusa Municipal Market, being organised by the Miraki and Hirkani CLFs from September 9 to 13.
In Tiswadi, exhibitions are being held at the old rickshaw stand at Gandhi Circle, Old Goa, and at Goa Velha Market.
The GSRLM said Chaturthi Bazar is aimed at strengthening rural livelihoods by connecting producers directly with consumers and giving them an opportunity to generate income from their traditional skills and products.
The mission has urged consumers to visit the exhibitions and support rural artisans, women-led Self Help Groups and local entrepreneurs by purchasing locally made products.
