Panaji: Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) president Girish Chodankar has raised a series of questions with Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal over the proposed Goa First alliance, defections and allegations linked to the party’s 2022 Goa Assembly election campaign.
Chodankar questioned Kejriwal over Congress leader Amit Patkar’s recent appearance on the GOA FIRST platform alongside Goa Forward Party president Vijai Sardesai and AAP MLA Venzy Viegas.
He asked Kejriwal whether Patkar would be joining the Goa First alliance and sought clarification over Kejriwal’s earlier allegation that Patkar had “CM ka Ashirwaad” in his mining business.
Chodankar also questioned Kejriwal over defections, pointing out that, according to him, seven AAP MPs had defected to the BJP in 2026.
“If you are talking about defections in Congress, there have been defections in AAP too. How can you stop this in your party?” Chodankar asked.
He further sought clarity on whether political defectors would be allowed to join the Goa First alliance and whether the alliance had a clear policy that defectors would not be given tickets in the 2027 Assembly elections.
Chodankar also raised allegations that the Delhi liquor policy scam had funded the AAP’s 2022 Goa election campaign and asked Kejriwal whether he believed that impression would continue to remain among Goans ahead of the 2027 polls.
The questions come amid political efforts to consolidate opposition parties and groups ahead of the 2027 Goa Assembly elections.
