BORDA: A one and a half month old newborn girl was discovered abandoned by her own mother in a startling incident near Borda Margao’s St Joaquim Road. After pulling the youngster out of the dumpster, the police took him right to the hospital so he could get medical attention.
The infant girl was discovered abandoned in a rubbish pile behind the apartment complex where her family resides on Wednesday morning. The father promptly phoned the police after realizing their child had vanished. After a prompt investigation by the police, the girl was discovered sobbing and wrapped in a green polythene bag in the trash behind the family’s house.
My wife woke me up this morning while I was sleeping and said, “I can’t find my baby.” I awoke my parents right away. The child’s father, Richard D’souza, said, “After that, I called the police and told our neighbor about the situation.”
The father said, “I really don’t know anything,” in response to a question about who was responsible for the act. My infant was discovered behind the building’s trash can. For me, it was shocking. I’m still traumatized by what happened at the moment.
The father claimed that everyone was asleep and that the main door was locked from the inside. There was no indication of any suspicious behaviour within the family.
PI Nathan Almeida Fatorda is presently investigating the matter. “We are investigating who is responsible for the child’s abandonment. The child was brought to the hospital, and the entire family is currently being questioned.
For carrying out such a cruel deed, the mother has been charged by the police. Further information is still pending as police continue their investigation into the incident.
