PANAJI: Aam Aadmi Party(AAP) has been demanding for better rates for Covid treatment and facilities. We have been asking for increasing number of testing as well, we have came to know about covid testing rates which are much higher than normal capped rates in the country.
“While I have started speaking on Covid mismanagement by the Govt, a lot of well wishers have started sharing insights, last night few prominent people have shared that how testing rates are over priced.” said Rahul Mhambre, AAP interim Convener.
To name a few, Apollo is charging Rs. 1800/- for Antigen test which actually costs around Rs.300, Health Key Labs are charging Rs.1800 for antigen test and Rs.4500 for RT-PCR test, where most of the states has capped RT-PCR test at Rs. 2400.
“Who is responsible for this organised loot? With number of covid cases rising, Govt must put a cap on the Covid test prices, like it did for Hospital beds. It will help motivate people to get themselves tested without fear of any extra economic burden.” said Rahul.
AAP demands immediate capping of Covid testing rates across private facilities, it has been a cause of stress for Goans.
