PONDA: Locals in Ponda were shocked over four minors escaping from Matruchaya Talavalim Ponda.
With no clues as to how these minors went missing, locals are worried and expressed concern over security issues as neither any Panchayat nor municipality have CCTVs for surveillance.
The CCTVs do not prevent crime but help to investigate post-crime based on the footage. However, the local bodies failed to install the such system.
The four minor boys below eighteen years of age who were sent from Apna Ghar Merces to Matruchaya Asram in Ponda learnt to be missing the very next day early morning from Talavalim Ponda.
Media report says minors were caught at Railway Station Margao in a theft case and shifted to Apna Ghar a month ago. However, Ponda Police said they are unaware of their involvement in the theft.
All four minors were sent to a Matruchaya in Ponda on March 31 from Apna Ghara in Mershi-Raibandar. All these four people took hospitality for one day. However, before daylight on April 1, all four escaped.
Three of the missing are from Chandigarh, and one is from Kerala state. All four minor boys are between the ages of thirteen and sixteen.
It is learnt that they were in Apna Ghar Mershim Raibandhar for the past month from March 1 to March 30 and were shifted to Matruchaya Ponda on March 31. However, after one day of stay, the very next day, on April 1, early morning, they are learnt to be missing.
The Officials of Matruchaya filed a complaint with Ponda police station in this regard, the case of kidnapping is learnt to be registered against unknowns as per rule, and Ponda police is investigating into the matter.
