SALIGAO: The elections for the Managing Committee of the Saligao Comunidade were held, at the Comunidade Ghor in Muddawadi, Saligao.
A record-breaking 194 Gaunkars attended.
The election proceedings were conducted smoothly under the guidance of the, Presiding/Returning Officer, (Mamlatdar of Bicholim ) Shripad Majik, who was ably assisted by three Talathis and two clerks.
The Gaunkars have entrusted an experienced panel to lead the Comunidade, electing Glen Dantas as the new President.
Dantas, a graduate in Economics and Political Science, has been in the printing industry for over 30 years.
Orlando Vaz was elected as the Attorney. A retired music teacher, Vaz has previously served as both President and Special Attorney of the Comunidade.
Allan Vaz, a retired State Bank of India Manager, takes over as Treasurer, bringing with him extensive financial expertise.
Other elected members include: Andrew D’Souza – Substitute President, a teacher at St. Xavier’s College.
Andrew Cordeiro – Substitute Attorney, a businessman and civil engineer, and the outgoing Attorney.
Ashley Delaney – Sub Treasurer, and outgoing Attorney a businessman and computer professional.
The newly elected committee looks forward to serving the Saligao Comunidade with dedication and transparency, working together towards a stronger and united Saligao Comunidade.
