MAPUSA: Health Minister Vishwajit Rane said that the North Goa District Hospital, Mapusa, has successfully performed its first Arthroscopic ACL (Anterior Cruciate Ligament) reconstruction, a minimally invasive procedure designed to repair torn knee ligaments.

He further said that this advanced “keyhole” surgery was carried out by a skilled team led by Dr. Vikas Solyekar, Head of Orthopaedics, along with Dr. Anish Verenekar and anesthetist Dr. Shweta Jambhle, showcase the hospital’s growing expertise in adopting advanced medical techniques.
“This milestone reflects the hospital’s commitment to delivering quality healthcare while providing patients with world-class treatment closer to home, eliminating the need to travel to metropolitan centers,” he added
Minister said that with faster recovery times, minimal scarring and reduced post-operative pain, this achievement marks a significant advancement in orthopedic care for the region.
