PANAJI: Goa has reported just one confirmed case of COVID-19, and there is currently no indication of a rise in infections across the state, according to Dr. Utkarsh Betodkar, Deputy Director of the Directorate of Health Services (Non-Communicable Diseases).
The lone case involves a 70-year-old patient admitted to the Goa Medical College (GMC). Health authorities have confirmed that the patient is receiving appropriate medical care and is under close observation.
“We are actively monitoring the situation. So far, there is no surge or cluster of cases, and surveillance continues across the state,” Dr. Betodkar said.
He added that the health department remains alert and prepared for any possible developments.
Routine testing and contact tracing protocols are being maintained as part of the ongoing surveillance efforts to ensure early detection and containment of any new cases.
The public has been advised to continue following basic COVID-19 precautions, particularly in healthcare settings and crowded areas
