PORVORIM: The opposition benches disrupted the speech of Goa Governor P S Sreedharan Pillai objecting to one-day-long Assembly session.
Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar warns the opposition members that they would be evicted from the House, if they don’t stop disruption.
Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao pointed out to Goa Governor P.S. Shreedharan Pillai, during his address in the assembly session, that the Kerala Assembly meets for an average of 50 days a year, while Goa’s average is only 26 days, which he called bulldozing democracy.
He urged the Governor to speak on the Mhadei issue, MPT and its dictatorship, land grabbing by land bankers from Delhi, Mumbai, and Ahmedabad, and to report on the employment issue.
“One-day assembly session is a murder of democracy. It’s a dark day for democracy. I fail to understand why they fear the opposition. It is our role to corner the government,” said LoP Yuri
Goa Forward Chief and MLA Vijai Sardesai protests against Job Scam , Land Grabbing and other scams of BJP Government while Governor Pillai delivered his address in the Assembly.
Calling it a “mockery of the constitution” and “murder of democracy.” Vijai alleged that the government has institutionalized scams, allowing those caught in corruption to simply pay and go scot-free.
“Govt has no shame on cash for jobscam and hence shying away from taking action,” said Vijai
AAP MLA Capt Venzy Viegas condemned this one-day assembly session and this government.
“Can we get Vishwas (trust) in a one-day session? Can we get Sabka Saath (everyone together) and Vikas (development) in a one-day session?,” questioned MLA Venzy
