PANAJI: Health Minister Vishwajit Rane and Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte, stated that since the budget is not state-specific, opposition leaders should not dispute its direct benefits to Goa.

According to Rane, the Modi government’s finest budgeted medical facility for cancer patients will be the opening of Day Care Cancer Centers in every district hospital across the nation within the next three years. By December 2026, the new cancer hospital in Goa will be put into service, he added.
Even if the central government’s requirements for the plan are strict, Rane stated that work will go on to build an AIIMS facility in Goa.
A gap study between Goa Medical College and Hospital and the five district hospitals—which include those in South and North Goa, Ponda, and Tuem—is being carried out by specialists, according to the health minister.
The state’s IT and tourism industries will benefit from the budget, according to the minister of tourism. In terms of spiritual tourism, he stated that the budget will support the Ekadash Teerth program.
Additionally, it was reported that Goa, in collaboration with the states, has been listed among India’s top 50 tourist destinations for special investment and infrastructural improvements.
The state BJP president responded to a query about Goa potentially losing out on more budgeted funds for the IIT-Goa campus’s infrastructure expansion by stating that the Chief Minister’s Office is looking into a related proposal.
