VASCO: A possible love angle seams to have surfaced in the Bogmalo shootout case, Superitendent of Police (South Goa) informed that the brother of a girl who was friendly to the deceased Amar Naik hired contract killers to kill him by paying a sum of Rs 5 lakh.
According to available information after investigation, the girl also hails from New Vaddem, Vasco and was in love with the victim. Her brother, who is currently in the middle east, was opposed to their relationship and as both belonged to different religions.
“During investigation it was revealed that brother of one of the female friends of the deceased was opposed to their relationship. Feeling offended, he contacted one of his old friends Ravi Shanker Yadav and offered Rs 5 Lakhs to him to kill the deceased. Ravi Shanker in turn brought the two other shooters to carry out the task,” Police informed.
Police suspect that the girl’s brother to have contacted Yadav and told him to hire contract killers to eliminate Naik. Yadav then contacted both the contract killers, who first arrived in Goa on July 7 and did recce of the full area and finalised the deal before returning to Mumbai, Maharashtra.
One of the accused Yadav seams to have provided two country made pistols and cartridges to the assailants, who killed Naik. One of accused worked as a crane operator and the other as a driver.
“We are investigating where the gun came from. It is not proper to say the main accused is in Dubai or another country but we are making efforts to trace him,” SP South added
The police also informed that efforts are being made to trace the main accused. Ravi Shankar Yadav from Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh, and currently staying at Anjuna, was remanded in five days of police custody by the Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC), Vasco. Yadav hired Shailesh Gupta (29) and Shivam Singh (22), supari Killers from Mumbai, to kill Naik.
Meanwhile, post-mortem of the deceased revealed that the death was caused due to cranio cerebral damage caused due to gun shot injury.
