MAPUSA: After the Aam Aadmi Party, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal announced the free pilgrimage for Goans if elected to power, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said that the State government will launch DevDevdarshan Scheme for all Senior citizens from December 1.
Goa CM Sawant was speaking at the Hall inauguration function at Mapusa.
“Our government will launch the DevDarshan Scheme for senior citizens from December 1. This scheme will be launched on the occasion of 60th Goa liberation day. This scheme will be implemented through the social welfare department,” said CM Sawant.
He further said that with this scheme, all Senior citizens will be able to visit all temples via a day-long tour.
Sawant also announced that Mapusa Smart City Master Plan will be implemented before the code of conduct.
“We are implementing the Mapusa Smart City Master Plan before Code of conduct. The tender will be floated by GSIDC,” he added.
Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant had accused AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal of copying his government-sponsored pilgrimage scheme as a pre-poll promise ahead of the 2022 Assembly polls.
He said he had announced it in the budget, and my scheme was ready and has been notified too. Registration has begun for those who want to undertake teerth yatra. He is copying my schemes… He is a copymaster,” Sawant had alleged.
While Sawant announced the scheme, there has been no implementation. No data of how many people were sent on pilgrimage.
Kejriwal has announced free pilgrimage to Shirdi, Ayodhya, Vailankani and Ajmer Sharif.
Rahul Mhambre on Thursday challenged CM Pramod Sawant to declare how many people in Goa have benefited from the BJP’s teertha yatra yojana scheme.
“Pramod Sawant’s schemes only remain on papers and never get implemented on the ground, be it promises on jobs or recent free water programme. I challenge Pramod Sawant to declare how many people have availed the pilgrimage scheme in the state”, said Mhambre.
“It was AAP who first announced Mukhyamantri teertha yatra yojana in Delhi three years ago. Recently, AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal also added Ayodhya to the list. People are made to visit many pilgrimage places for free, and the Delhi government bears the entire cost of their travel. As of now, more than 35 thousand people have gained benefits from the yojana. On the other hand, Pramod Sawant is habituated to copy everything AAP does”, said Mhambre.
