PANAJI: Director of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services Panaji has informed that the Government has approved to lift the ban imposed on transportation and entry of live poultry birds and eggs from neighboring states of Kamataka and Maharashtra in the State of Goa with immediate effect except birds and eggs within th mdius of 10 kilometers of infected zones time from Mumbai, Thune, Parbhani, and Beed areas of Maharashtra State.
“In exercise of the powers conferred upon me by Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure 1973, do here prohibit entry of live poultry birds and eggs from within the radius of 10 kilometer of infected zones ie. from Mumbai, Thune, Parbhani, Dapoli and Beed arens of Mi ra State into South Goa District,” the order by Surendra F. Naik, Additional District Magistrate, South Goa District states
The DM further said that order dated January 12, 2021 ‘stands rescinded.’ The government, through this order, had banned the entry of live poultry and other birds into Goa owing to outbreak of bird flu across the country. No bird flu cases have so far been reported in the State.
